Make easy grilled steak for your meal prep with a delicious and healthy recipe. Try some yummy steak for dinner and save the rest for your meal prep lunch.
Steak is a great option for meal prep. It’s quick to prepare. The cooking time for it is low. Steak is also high in protein! When paired with the right sides, you can have a great low carb meal for your meal prep.

There are various cuts of steak to buy. If you’re on a budget, you can try out flat iron, trip tip, bottom round steak, or what I used for this recipe: flank steak.
With flank steak, you have to be cautious on cooking time, because overcooked flank steak can get really tough, really easily. However, when cooked correctly, flank steak still provides that juicy flavor that you think of when it comes to steak (just on a lower budget).
For flank steak, you might consider pounding out your steak a little to help loosen the texture. Then from there I simply add some of my favorite buttery steak seasoning and Worcestershire sauce.
Once the grill is nice and hot, I throw on the steak. Depending on the thickness of your steak, you may only need to cook it for a few minutes (4 minutes on each side to sear in my case.) Then, I move it to a cooler part of the grill to finish up cooking only for another 1-2 minutes.
Flank steak is best cooked to medium rare which is perfect for meal prep because heating up the meat afterwards will bring it to a nice medium/medium-rare. Be sure not to over cook during the re-heating process either. If you’re unsure about whether or not your meat is cooked, use a meat thermometer like this.
Once the meat is pulled off of the grill, I let it settle for about 10 minutes under some aluminum foil. Then I cut it across the grain. I then cut my pieces into cubes for meal prep.
While my steak is settling, that’s when I prepare the sides. In this case, I made broccoli and my cauliflower rice and brown rice mix.
Once I’m through with dinner, I then box up in containers like these and prepare the rest for meal prep during the week.
